Picket Fences star Lauren Holly talks about her sons and returning to acting

We first came to know Lauren Holly as Mary Swanson in Dumb & Dumber, then as Deputy Sheriff Maxine Stewart in Picket Fences. Now, Lauren is a proud mom-of-three and returning to the small screen in the new ABC crime drama, Motive.

The actress opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her three sons, 12-year-old Azer, 11-year-old George and nine-year-old Henry), the “constant juggling act” of motherhood and her revived career.

Azer loves the guitar, skateboards and BMX, Lauren shared. While George loves computers, books and swimming. Henry is almost 10 and loves anything that involves a ball and movies. “My favorite times are late night conversations — especially when the four of us get laughing,” she says. She admits that motherhood has helped her become less selfish. “Motherhood is a constant juggling act. Some weeks I’m doing it, some weeks I’m flailing,” shesays.

Lauren can be seen playing the role of Dr. Betty Rogers on ABC’s new crime drama series Motive. She enjoyed playing Dr. Bettery because she’s smart and sassy, she says. As for summer plans, Lauren said the family plans to hang out and have fun together. “Yesterday we had a huge water fight with 30 friends and family — hoses, squirt guns and 1,000 water balloons. It was a blast,” she says. “I start season two of Motive in mid-August, and they will go to camp then before heading back to school.”
