Canada's best beaches
By Eric Thom

Every summer, Canadians make a pilgrimage to whatever lake,
ocean or river is closest and drink it in, sometimes braving
traffic jams just to get there. Lucky for us, Canada has more
shoreline than any other country in the world and that’s before
tapping into our more than three million lakes (more than
60 percent of the world’s total) and 2.5 million rivers, many of
which are still yet to be discovered. ParentsCanada has
scoured the country for some of the best beaches,
many of them off the beaten track and all of them
worthy of an unforgettable family outing.
Writer Eric Thom and his wife and three teenaged
children split their beach time between
the Haliburton, Ont., area (more dock than
beach) and Cuba when they can.
