It illustrates the magnificence of Ballet and Anna’s love for the art form. Along with the illustrated story, this book includes a brief biography of Anna Pavlova’s life for a more in depth look at how she became such a revolutionary ballerina.

LEO: A GHOST STORY

By Mac Barnett, Illustrated by Christian Robinson $22.99, Chronicle Books Leo a Ghost Story is a charming tale of a ghost who befriends a young girl. It includes endearing illustrations from the perspective of the ghost and those around. There was a useful lesson in the book, which was that not everyone will understand you but there will be someone who see’s you for who you are.

SANTA IS COMING TO CANADA

By Steve Smallman, Illustrated by Robert Dunn $12.99, Sourcebooks Santa Is Coming To Canada is a modern twist on the classic Christmas tales while integrating Canadian geography and historical buildings. The Illustrations were intricate providing interest and making the read very enjoyable. It was a pleasurable read with beautiful illustrations and a fresh Christmas tale to add onto the Christmas read list.

HAPPY

By Pharrell Williams, $23.99 Pharrell Williams’ book Happy has very unique pictures with the objects and scenes made out of paper or digital design. The multi media portrayed Pharrell Williams’ distinctive style and separated his book from other illustrated children’s book. This book was extremely creative and an enjoyable read with pictures showing kids being creative, having fun and being happy.

RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Ripley’s Publishing, $34.95 Ripley’s Believe It or Not is pages of unbelievable facts and pictures that are intriguing yet so bizarre you will want to keep reading. All of today’s phenomenons are written in this book from a frog with extra legs to hailstones the size of tennis balls.
