We asked our Food Editor, Julie Van Rosendaal, to share a bowl of Barilla PLUS® with her family and dress it up with one of her favourite sauces. Husband Mike and son Willem were happy to assist!

1 box Barilla PLUS® Penne
4 ounces (120g) pancetta, julienned
4 tablespoons (50ml) extra virgin olive oil, divided
1 pint (300g) grape tomatoes, halved
8 ounces (227g) frozen peas, thawed
½ cup (100ml) water
¹⁄³ cup (45g) romano cheese, grated
season to taste
BRING a large pot of water to a boil. ADD pancetta to a large cold skillet; sauté over medium heat until crisp. DRAIN, discard fat and reserve pancetta. ADD tomatoes and half of the olive oil to the skillet. SAUTÉ tomatoes over medium heat until the skins are slightly blistered. SEASON to taste. ADD peas and water. COOK until most of the water has evaporated, about 6 minutes. COOK Barilla PLUS® Penne according to package directions. DRAIN pasta; add and toss pasta with the pea mixture. FINISH with grated romano cheese, remaining olive oil, and pancetta before serving.
