Remember when you were home sick as a kid and your mom would make you chicken noodle soup to feel better? It turns out she was right!
Though the jury is still out on whether chicken soup can actually cure a cold, there is goodness to be had in this comfort food. Homemade chicken broth is low in calories and fat and is easy for the body to digest. It’s also rich in minerals like potassium – essential for a healthy heart – and phosphorous, which aids in metabolism and can help build protein and healthy bones and teeth.
