My four-year-old daughter has picked up the worst of the curse words. I think she enjoys the flap she causes when she uses them. She seems to wait until there’s an audience and is smart
enough to know how flustered I get. How should I react?
Oh dear, a potty mouth – and so young! Not to worry, it happens quite often. Young children pick up on words and expressions that get a reaction. The key is to ignore it. She loves the attention, be it negative or positive. So turn your attention elsewhere when she tries to shock you with her new found vocabulary. You just don’t hear it!
