Jessica Alba hopes to inspire her children to be eco-friendly

Jessica Alba told Celebrity Baby Scoop that hanging out with her girls is like a dream every day. “They’re happy and healthy one- and four-year-olds who like to play, explore, get messy and are creative,” she says. “Since they’re typical kiddos, they’re bound to make me laugh.”

They do a lot of DIY crafts together, such as using cardboard boxes to make airplanes and dollhouses. And it’s great that their creative playtime teaches the girls how to repurpose old items.

Jessica also believes in inspiring an eco-friendly living by having her children involved in gardening and cooking. “Caring for the plants in our herb wall garden helps Honor understand the steps to growing food (including patience!), how it ultimately lands on her plate and about being a good steward of the planet,” she says.

Last year, Jessica founded The Honest Company, which specializes in eco-friendly body and home products. The mom-of-two is now joining forces with Zulily to share her safe and sustainable products with a new audience. Both companies believe in simplifying families’ busy lives by bringing them affordable, stylish, and trusted products every day.

Meanwhile, Jessica is excited to publish her first book, The Honest Life, which comes out in March. “It’s a colorful how-to guidebook for people who want to make a healthy and non-toxic home without giving up the fun fashionable things,” she says. “I hope people will be inspired to make the ideas their own and find what works for them.”

You can see Jessica next in her new animated movie, Escape from Planet Earth, where she gets to play the nemesis for the first time. She says she’s looking forward to taking Honor and her friends to see it.
