KIDS AND FAMILY EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEKEND AHEAD BY AREA:

These events are within 1-3 hours north of Toronto and are reasonable when considering a day trip, or stay at any family friendly accommodation and extend the fun. These events would also be within proximity or close to many of Ontario’s ‘cottage country’.

ONTARIO FAMILY FISHING WEEKEND: Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government designates two periods throughout the year as license-free, February 16-18, 2013 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Monday) and July 6-14, 2013 (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday).

KIDS GOLF FREE: Make sure to mark it on your calendar that the Take A Kid To The Course program will be running from July 8-14 at participating courses across the country!  Take time to introduce the game of golf to that special junior.

FAMILY ART WORKSHOP: Family Sunday Workshop – Regional artist Kirsty Wilson leads the whole family in creating hands-on collaborative art projects with a wide range of materials. Sign up early on the day of the workshop. Space is limited.

ANNUAL LIBRARY GARDEN TOUR: A self-guided tour of 15 unique gardens, talented local artisans at most locations. A number of eateries are also available. Gardens in Midland, Penetang, Tay & Tiny.

 
MUSIC IN THE PARK: Sunday evenings in Little Lake Park. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music while the kids play at the park.

Fun in Port Severn!

JUST ADD WATER FESTIVAL: It will feature a Midway with Carnival Rides opening on the afternoon of Thursday, July 11th and running through the weekend into the evening of Sunday, July 14th. An organized ATV Ride and a Motorcycle Rally is to be held on Saturday, and on stage in Port Severn Park. Three amazing acts will be presented, running into the evening concert.
