Meet Our Therapists

Leisha Zamecnik

Leisha Zamecnik, MSW, RSW Executive Director & Clinical Social Worker, CommonCompass

Leisha Zamecnik is an experienced mental health professional, program designer and facilitator who has been engaging young people, parents and youth-serving professionals in the areas of social emotional well-being mental health and leadership development, for the past 15+ years. In 2014, she founded Common Compass, a registered charity dedicated to strengthening mental health and social-emotional wellbeing in schools through evidence-based, customized programming. The organization has since worked across 8 school boards and with more than 8000 students, parents and educators.

Prior to this, Leisha worked in community-based children’s mental health as both as a clinician and manager, lead numerous multi-agency partnerships and region-wide youth prevention programs. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (University of Toronto), a Bachelor of Art & Science (Psychology & Biology, University of Guelph), and Certificate in Leadership, and has earned several awards for her work. 

Leisha is a mom of 2 energetic children and enjoys camping and hiking with family, and time with friends (especially on patios!). 

Tsa Alexander

Tsa is a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) and also a certified guided meditation facilitator

Tsa (pronounced Teesa) grew up in Toronto, Ontario playing competitive soccer for her province, before earning a scholarship in the United States. Tsa Alexander graduated from the University of Akron, (Akron, Ohio) earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice. She then returned to Ontario and completed a diploma in Social Service Work at Loyalist College in Belleville, ON.

After graduating, Tsa began a career in social services, where she worked directly with children and families facing a wide array of challenges for over 10 years in the field. Using solution-focused brief therapy and mindfulness-based approaches, she aims to empower her clients with the skills they need to overcome obstacles.

She is a graduate of the University of Toronto—OISE, earning her Master of Education, in Counselling Psychology. Tsa is a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) and also a certified guided meditation facilitator.
