Best place to swim in warm, warm water

Long-time Fredericton resident and marketing coordinator Sharon Cattan, and her husband, Ian, rave about Parlee Beach in nearby Shediac/Pointe-du-Chêne. It boasts “the warmest water north of Virginia” due to its shallow depth. Its soft, sandy shores stretch for miles and miles. The lush sand (replaced regularly by the government due to natural erosion and winter storm activity) is home to games of volleyball, rugby and sand sculpting contests. Shediac, known as The Lobster Capital of the World, also offers pretty shops and plenty of playgrounds, cottage rentals and campgrounds. It’s also known for hosting some spectacular beach concerts over the years.
