Family Day activities in Wainwright, Lloydminster and Camrose

Looking for something to do with your family on Family Day? Here is a list of activities happening in each location:

Wainwright

The Communiplex (C-Plex) and Peace Memorial Multiplex (PMM) will be open from 2 pm. to 5 p.m. for public skating, public shinny, squash courts and the weight room.

Please note that public swim will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Lloydminster

The following are activities happening at the Servus Sports Centre:

• The Border Blades will be hosting a free skate followed by races for club members and the public.
• Lloydminster in Motion will be sponsoring a free Fun Zone from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Lloydminster and Area Drug Strategy will be sponsoring free youth and adult drop-in basketball and badminton from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lloydminster Leisure Club will be hosting a public swim from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Drop-in rates do apply.

The Barr Colony Heritage Cultural Centre will be hosting an early Family Day on Saturday, February 16 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be activities such as How to Make Fingerprint Family Trees in the Studio, as well as snowshoeing, snow painting and a photo scavenger hunt. Regular admission does apply. Free hot chocolate will be offered to families in the Traveling Gallery.

Enjoy skating? Seek out one of the many outdoor skating rinks found around the city. Access is free.

Camrose

The Camrose Aquatic Centre is hosting a free swim from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Camrose Family Resource Centre will be at the Field House from noon to 4 p.m. They will be hosting activities, such as snowshoeing, hockey with the Kodiaks, games, and glitter tattoos. Admission is free, however, please be advised that food items, raffle tickets and glitter tattoos are for purchase.
