PA Day Kids Fun North of Toronto! It’s a winter wonderland full of awesome winter activities!

January 31st, the first PA Day of the year.

This Friday is a perfect choice for a PA Day. Parents should take the day off or play hookie because #1. Who doesn’t love a 3-day weekend and #2. There’s some cool stuff happening your family will want to take part in!

Here’s some suggestions of how to spend your PA Day!

Long Weekend Getaways: Many resorts, cottage resorts, hotels and family friendly accommodations are offering some hard to ignore getaway packages that have all the best parts of winter for kids like hockey, skiing, skating, snowboarding, snowshoeing, fat biking, crafts, winter bonfires and more!

Winter Festivals: This weekend includes Winterfest and Festival of Ice in Barrie, Winterfest in Midland and the popular world famous prophetic rodent festival…Wiarton Willie Festival! Why not head out a day early and be there for the start of the festivities.

Ski Schools, Ski fun: Head for the hills and trails as a family or if your kids are old enough, consider a day lesson program. Your kids will love the thrills of skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, fat biking and even snow tubing! 


M*A*S*H Bash at Snow Valley Resort
The most anticipated ski event of the season arrives this Friday so bring the kids and support a great cause – Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre! The 27th annual M*A*S*H Bash hits the slopes on Friday, January 31st. 

Snow Valley Resort
Choose from a great variety of outdoor recreation activities. There is truly something for every member of the family. Fun for all ages activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, tubing and they also offer lessons, as well as racing and school programs. 

Horseshoe Resort
Rediscover winter fun in Ontario this season at Horseshoe Resort. With 26 runs, a terrain park and 35 km of groomed Nordic ski trails, Horseshoe has your ski and snowboard needs covered! A variety of activities await you this Winter season at Horseshoe Resort’s Adventure Park such as snow tubing and fat biking!

Hardwood Ski and Bike
Hardwood is a full service nordic ski centre providing trails for all levels of  skiers, fat bikers or snowshoers. They are open seven days a week and offer rentals, retail nordic ski, lessons, cafe and children’s programs.

City of Barrie Winterfest & Festival of Ice
Winterfest has been named one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario by Festivals and Events Ontario! Celebrate winter with ice carvings, giant snow sculptures, lumber-jack show, polar bear swim and more. Grab your mittens and celebrate the winter season with adventures the whole family will enjoy!



Scenic Caves Nordic Centre
Winter activities include groomed cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and traversing 420 feet over Southern Ontario’s longest suspension bridge. See natural Ontario forrest as a beautiful winter wonderland!

Skiing, Snowboarding and attraction park at Blue Mountain Resort
