ParentsCanada was pleased to partner with Lice Squad.com on an educational video to help stop the stigma associated with head lice and to stop the over use and abuse pf pesticides on children, families and the environment.  The video helps parents learn the Facts of Lice and shows natural treatment as well as prevention options to keep you and your family lice free.

This video was produced as a tool and community resource for Head Lice Awareness Day.  “Lice Squad is hosting the day to bring attention to the overuse and abuse of pesticides on children and the environment,” explained, Dawn Mucci, President and Founder of Lice Squad.  “We know that head lice can be solved without the use of harsh chemicals.  We want to enact a change that will have a positive impact on the health of children, families and the environment and stop the stigma surrounding head lice. This common human condition affects over 2.4 million Canadians and we are all susceptible.  It is time for a TLC approach to treating head lice and people who experience it.”

A number of initiatives are already in place to achieve the mission and vision of Lice Squad including a donation to charity.  “The Children’s Aid Foundation was a natural choice to be the recipient of our company’s desire to give back.” says Mucci.  Since 2014, Lice Squad has donated $1 from every Premium Nit Kit sold to Children’s Aid Foundation. The additional donation of one day’s service sales revenue company-wide will increase our commitment to further help children and communities. “We’re very pleased that the staff and franchisees of Lice Squad were so receptive to this idea” commented Lara Fellman who is a Senior Development Officer at Children’s Aid Foundation.

Activities planned for the week leading up to September 17th include a colouring contest for children in partnership with well-known Children’s author, Tracy Dockray.  Prizes include signed copies of her book “Lice: “The Scare in My Hair”, spa packages valued at over $200 from Hand and Stone Massage and one grand prize winner will receive two hardcover copies of the book and a virtual visit by the author for their school.

Lice Squad Canada has been the go-to source for non-toxic head lice removal, screening and education for over fourteen years.  The company offers clinic and mobile services in major Canadian communities, as well as a full line of pesticide-free products available nationwide at its LS Clinics and mobile locations and in pharmacies and health food stores.
