An 11-year-old visits Orlando

Jasonsstory - an 11-year-old visits orlando

Editor’s note: Not a word was changed from Jason’s diary. Only typing and spelling were corrected.

DAY 1 – I was so, so, so excited when my Mom told me that we were going to Orlando. I just wanted to scream. And on the plane ride to Orlando, I was asking my Mom every three seconds, “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?”

Once I arrived at the Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn I was so excited. There was a water park and arcade and two huge pools where kids got slimed with green gooey stuff that was poured over them. All afternoon, I was playing in the water park and playing in the arcade. I was having the time of my life. Then, for lunch, I had a burger and a root beer from A & W. It was really good. And I can’t wait for tomorrow to go to Discovery Cove and swim with the dolphins. I loved the fun characters in our suite at the hotel like Sponge-Bob and Dora and Diego. They were on the walls of my room. Cool.

DAY 2 – I just woke up from my good night sleep. I slept well. I am at Discovery Cove. First, I got my wet suit on. That was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever worn, but I got used to it. Then, I went snorkelling. I saw the biggest fish, small fish, colourful fish and saw lots of big stingrays. I even touched one. That was cool. Then I swam with the dolphins. I rode one named Charlotte and touched her and hugged her and fed her and learned a lot about dolphins.

Then, I went to Sea World and we saw a lot of water presentations – the best was the Believe Show with Shamu the famous whale. Next, we had dinner at this really cool shark place. There was a fish tank right beside us. It was really cool. And I learned a lot about sharks, too.

After that, we went to our hotel and at 10 p.m. I went to sleep.

DAY 3 – The next day we went to Universal Studios. I went on almost every ride. But my personal favourite was The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man in 3D. It was the best ride. This was my favourite theme park along with Islands of Adventure. After that, we went canoeing at Wekiwa Spring State Park. We went through this winding river. I saw alligators and lots of turtles. It was my favourite canoe ride ever.

When we went to Kennedy Space Center, it was so, so, so, so great. I got to go on the Shuttle Launch Experience ride and felt the G-force. After that I had lunch with an astronaut. I learned a lot about space, too.

DAY 4 – On the last day, we went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I had a really good lunch there (barbecue ribs) and I saw It’s Tough to Be a Bug show, also in 3D. The Finding Nemo musical show was good too and I rode Everest Expedition. That ride was really fast. I liked it a lot, but my Mom got a little sick and needed to buy a ginger ale to settle her stomach. Then, at the end of the day, we saw The Blue Man Group at Universal Studios City Walk. It was better than a hockey game or basketball game. It was the best show I have ever seen! They even had lots of toilet paper in the show.

When we got back to The Nickelodeon, some of the kids (including me) got slimed. It was gross but fun at the same time. Once I cleaned up, we started packing. Then we went to the airport. The plane was already there so we didn’t have to wait. This was such a fun trip. Thanks, Mom. PC
