Celebrate moms on Mother’s Day

Mom reading to baby - celebrate moms on mother's day“A mom’s hug lasts long after she lets go.” – Author Unknown

This Sunday marks my third Mother’s Day. Although my daughter is a few years off from painting her own gift mugs and bringing me a fabulous, potentially overcooked and possibly cold, breakfast in bed, I’m still looking forward to celebrating this day with her and my own mother.

As moms, we seldom take time to slow down just a bit and enjoy our role. I’ve recently made a conscious effort to play more with my little girl when she requests it. I sit on the floor for an impromptu tea party or read a Dora story I can recite from memory in my sleep.

Time truly does fly by. As I began writing this entry, I was a little sad knowing that one day she may not want to sit on the floor with me, have that fabulous tea party or read any stories together. We’ll be on to a new stage by then where we’ll hopefully love shopping and lunching together or checking out the latest rom-com at the movies.

Each stage is to be celebrated and enjoyed – they grow up so fast!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, I’ve included two gift ideas below, one for the sleep deprived mom and one for the mama-to-be!

Enjoy your day!
