Where to begin! Happy New Year and welcome to our first Weekend Playlist of 2014! Now that the holidays are behind us, it’s time to get down to the serious business of winter family fun. Mother Nature sure had the same thought. Areas north of Toronto have received upwards of 50cm of snow in the last week.

Celebrate winter with your family at Snow Valley. Choose from a great variety of outdoor recreation activities. There is truly something for every member of the family. Hardwood is a full service nordic ski centre providing trails for all levels of skiers or snowshoers. They are open seven days a week and offer rentals, retail nordic ski, lessons, cafe and children’s programs.
MACLAREN ART CENTRE
Enrich your childrens’ days with art. Every child has the potential and needs the inspiration! Kids are never too young to learn art appreciation and be inspired themselves. Visit the gallery or attend the Sunday Family Art Workshop! Regional artist Annie Aspden and guest artists will lead creative projects that families can complete together. Sign up in person at 1:00 pm on the day of the workshop, as space is limited.

Open Mic at the Cafe Saturdays at 2:00pm. The Atrium is available for small group meetings or a get together with family or friends.
MIDLAND FARMERS’ MARKET
Meet farmers and artisans and have a taste of Ontario, even in winter! Saturday morning 9-1 at the North Simcoe Sport and Recreation Centre.

You will find a list of the farmers, producers, restaurants, retailers and accommodations that have identified themselves as advocates of local taste and local products, within the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene & Townships of Tay and Tiny, Ontario through the Huronia Food Trail.
