Quick and easy to prepare, this is a tasty, easy treat for…well, whenever. And just in time for National Bagel Day on January 15! The creamy combination of fresh flavours on a blueberry bagel makes it a delicious choice for breakfast, snack time or even as dessert.
1 blueberry bagel (such as Dempster’s Signature Blueberry Bagel)
1/3 cup (75 mL) ricotta cheese
1 tsp (5 mL) honey
1/2 tsp (2 mL) lemon zest
- Split and toast the bagel to your desired level of golden.
- Stir together ricotta, honey and lemon zest. Spread lemon ricotta over both halves of the bagel.
Tips: For a more decadent variation, substitute mascarpone for ricotta cheese. Substitute maple syrup for honey if preferred.
